Recess Revival lets your inner kid shine.

In August 2023, I worked with two of my best friends to found Recess Revival, a nonprofit that provides trauma-informed therapeutic crafting and play workshops to Seattle-area adults.

Our message is that our want to play and create doesn’t end when we’re children, and that providing a healthy outlet can aid adults with trauma recovery.

I created all branding, including web and motion design, for Recess Revival, with the aim of balancing the notion of play with an aged-up color palette.

If you’re seeing this text, you might be viewing this on a mobile or tablet device. Squarespace won’t let me shrink this widget for mobile devices, so I’m filling up that big blue space with this text box.

Let me take this space to ask you: how are you feeling today? Have you drank enough water lately? Don’t worry, me neither.

Have you talked to your family lately? In whatever sense of the word you define as family, I’m sure they’d like to hear from you.

Are you enjoying this little personal moment between us? If Squarespace updates this widget functionality, it might go away soon. Isn’t it strange that our most profound moments of connection are often not when the system helps us, but when it fails us? Chatting with strangers when the bus never comes. Talking to the cashier while their register is rebooting. How do we find so much to talk about? Why do we find it in those moments?

I don’t know. Just something to think on.
